Parallels Forums. Messages: It worked in version I have read a lot of the threads from version 10 when this also appeared and have tried those solutions, however, none of those work consistently.
Also, in the version 10 issues, it appeared that it was only a problem with the first use of the SHIFT key and it was fine after that. But this is not a long-term solution as it makes it very difficult to type. Has anyone else experienced this issue and have you found a solution?

Shift key not working in remote session
Site Feedback. Tell us about your experience with our site. Mike Graham Created on January 7, I am using remote desktop and am having a great deal of difficulty. I am experiencing about one to two second lag between the time I press the shift key and the time it registers on the remote desktop computer. I have the same delay for releasing the key.
I have the same delay for the control key too. Please help me if you can!! This is really hurting my productivity. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I have the same question Debleena S Replied on January 8, Is it causing delay only with shift key and ctrl key? You could try the to sign out remotely from your PC.
Sign in again and see if this issue persists. If yes please open the On-Screen keyboard and see if pressing shift on your Mac is reflected on the OnScreen keyboard. Tried the onscreen Mac keyboard, and for shift, the only option is the Shift lock key. The curious behavior here is that when shift lock is on, the virtual keyboard generates lower case characters on the remote and when it is off it generates upper case characters on the remote PC.
The virtual keyboard also does not show a ':' character, and I need that character! It is odd indeed, I confirm the shift and control keys do not work with the window maximised, if you have the window smaller it goes away. Does not seem to affect the alt key. I have a new Laptop, now with Windows Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac still does not properly handle keyboard input.

Monday, February 1, PM. Please verify that your local keyboard locale and the keyboard locale on your remote machine match. Both machines are "us" United States.
For example, if I am trying to type ""I could end up getting 2" because the remote machine gets the first press of the 2 key before it gets the Shift modifier. And before anyone asks, this is not just bad typing, otherwise the problem would not be restricted to RDP sessions. This does not appear to be a hardware issue as it happens on my desktop running bit Windows 7 and on my laptop bit XP and on various Remote computers running various operating systems from XP to Windows Server.
Has anyone seen this problem, and other than always typing very very slowly, i. It is the way the RDP client responds to control keys. It's not "free" but some gamepads let you map buttons to key combinations I've found the solution to this where one is using nested instances of Microsoft's Remote Desktop client. Scott I very often experience this - both lack of synch, and a control key getting 'stuck' - specifically, Shift. I would user a bounty on this question if I had more reputation on SU I use RDP a lot and never experienced that.I can get the correct letter if I deliberately hold the SHIFT key down for a second before typing the other letter but that is error-prone at best and it slows me way down.
I have not been able to reproduce this issue, though I have a couple of questions about your setup. Are you using Fusion's keyboard remapping feature, as in is the "Enable Key Mappings" checkbox checked? If so do any of these remapping involve the modifier keys you are experiencing trouble with?
Are you using Unity when you experience this issue? Hey, that fixed it! I had Enable Key Mappings checked and I unchecked it and now the shift key isn't lagged anymore. To narrow it down for you, I found the key mapping that was causing the problem. I had one that went from Shift Option F9 to F9.
If I Enable Key Mappings but disable that particular mapping, then shift works correctly. I am very glad to know that disabling the one keybinding fixed your issues.
Would you mind explaining what you use this keybinding for? I think I was having trouble getting F9 to work in the VM. So I made a weird key combo that would get me F9 in the VM. Thank you for the response. I would like to suggest a couple of other methods you could have used to send F9 to the guest in case you run into a similar issue in the future. It is also possible to use the Send Key menu which is in the Virtual Machine menu to send a number of often troublesome keys, including F9, to the VM.
I too have the problem of using shiftkey in my Virtual machine. Being a non technical person please help to understand how to uncheck the key mappings. I don't know where the option is available. Disabling that shortcut fixed the lag that has been bugging me for months. Where is this keyboard mapping that you guys are talking about?
I submitted this feedback to Teamviewer as well while testing out the Beta. Same scenario - OS X Anything that requires the use of the shift key does not seem to work. I just sent them a note as well. On the Windows 10 machines the number pad does not seem to be working for numbers. Just the cursor commands Enter may work, but didn't try it. I closed TeamViewer completely on my Mac. Then I accessed my account through the Teamviewer management console in Safari. I was asked to autorize the opening of the Teamviewer app and I did.
And after I reconnected to the Windows computer through the app, all keys on my Mac keyboard were working in Windows. I have noticed that if I press home in TeamViewer the spacebar and the rest of the modifier keys don't work.
I use several remote methods from a Windows 10 computer. Hmm, I tried that and it didn't work for me. I'm accessing a PC from a mac. This software works with a lot of shortcuts. Press 3 and drag the mouse around and you can rotate your scene. I am unable to do this using Team Viewer. I've turned 'Send key combinations' on and off, I've restarted on both ends, I've even logged into the app from a browser.
Nothing works so far. Did you ever find a solution? I'm tring to use teamviewer from my Macbook Pro to connect to a windows 10 machine running Cinema 4D and Octane and I've run into this same issue. I can't use the 1,2,3 buttons to navigate my scene.
